UNDP and the United Nations in its entirety consistently prioritize gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) in all endeavors. Since the adoption of CEDAW in 19791, the Beijing +20 platform for action in 19952, and the implementation of the third MDG (Milennium Developent Goal) “Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women,3“ UNDP has contributed to bridging the global gender gap, by empowering women and promoting gender equality.
