Closing ceremony: Financial management training for local government officersDec 14, 2011
Juba - The three-week Financial Management Training for Local Government Officers is concluding on Friday 16 December at the Government Accounting Training Centre (GATC). The training, which began on 28 November, has been organized by the Local Government Board (LGB) and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Capacity Building Trust Fund (CBTF).
This will mark the end of the first comprehensive public financial management training targeting all the counties of South Sudan. Seventy-nine Local Government Officers from all the ten states of the Republic of South Sudan have benefitted from this comprehensive financial management training. The main aim of the training programme is to develop solid financial management capacity at the county level in order to increase the revenues of local counties and improve their resource management and reporting.
