Crisis Prevention and Recovery

  • Community Security and Arms Control

The goal of CSAC is to provide technical assistance to enhance the capacity of the Government of South Sudan in the carrying out of its duty to protect the rights and lives of south Sudanese citizens, during a process of State formation.

  • South Sudan Recovery Fund: Round One-Livelihoods and Recovery

Sudan Recovery Fund - South Sudan (SSRF) aims to bridge the gap in the transition from humanitarian to recovery assistance through catalytic, high impact and quickly disbursed projects to demonstrate peace dividends, build the capacities of Government of South Sudan (GoSS) ministries and encourage the participation and empowerment of communities affected by conflict and poverty.

  • South Sudan Recovery Fund: Round Two- Small Grants

The Small Grants Window emphasizes national implementation, local partnerships, and capacity building at the community level. This objective is of particular importance in the field of basic services, where the transition process and the gradual phase-out of external assistance is likely to be especially difficult.

  • South Sudan Recovery Fund: Round Three- State Stabilisation Programme

Round three switched the focus to state stabilization, supporting state-led projects that aim to improve security and increase the delivery of basic services. Projects in Eastern Equatoria, Lakes, Jonglei and Warrap states include the construction of boreholes, county headquarters, courts, police stations, reservoirs, roads, and a state radio station.

  • Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) Programme

Through the provision of a wide range of services, ex-combatants will be supported in their social recognition and will be provided with opportunities to build alternative livelihoods and careers.

  • Crisis Mapping Analysis and Transformation

The Crisis Recovery Mapping and Analysis (CRMA) project is a planning and information management support and capacity building initiative that aims to strengthen national and state planning, coordination and monitoring, for more effective governance across conflict afflicted areas of South Sudan.

Our Work in Crisis Prevention & Recovery

The Crisis Prevention and Recovery programme supports national partners to secure peace and stability through targeted crisis prevention and recovery projects. Localized conflicts, internally displaced people and the mass return of refugees illustrate that continued efforts to promote peace and stability are essential.
